My name is Brendon, a 39-year-old builder from New Zealand, and the creator and sole founder of EnemaPro. This product is deeply personal to me, as it stems from my two-decade-long battle with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and severe constipation.

A Personal Struggle

For over 20 years, IBS dominated my life. The bowel discomfort was relentless, leaving me desperate for answers. I placed my trust in the healthcare system, cycling through various treatments. Over 16 years, I took 31 different prescription medications, totaling 3,104 prescription units, spanning eight drug categories.

Despite all this, my gut issues worsened. Eventually, I was diagnosed with “health anxiety,” and psychiatric medications became part of the regimen. The cycle was overwhelming and ineffective.

A Turning Point

Everything changed in mid-2020, when a close friend who had beaten cancer suggested I try Be Pure’s digestive enzyme supplement, “Gut Assist.” To my amazement, this supplement transformed my gut health overnight. My anxiety disappeared, and for the first time in over a decade, I began to function normally. I immediately stopped all medications, including heart and anti-anxiety meds.

Over the next four years, I dove headfirst into my gut health journey. Under the guidance of a functional medicine practitioner, I underwent numerous tests and implemented various protocols:

The Birth of EnemaPro

EnemaPro was created to fill the gap between gravity-fed enema bags and single-use saline enemas. Having used enema bags for years, I found them effective but impractical—they required too much time, space to operate, and ideally, a clean floor to lie down on. I needed a solution that was quicker, didn’t require me to lie down, and only required water. It also had to be easy to clean. That was until I discovered enema bulbs—small rubber bulbs with an attached nozzle that could be filled with water and squeezed to inject liquid into the rectum. However, squeezing the bulb required effort, making it difficult to relax during use, and the design made thorough cleaning a challenge. I needed a product that was effortless to use, allowed for full relaxation, and required minimal cleanup.

That’s when I came across a relatively unknown nasal irrigator. Yes, EnemaPro is a modified nasal irrigator—but it’s far more than that. I developed EnemaPro by lowering the water flow to less than that of a gravity-fed enema bag and designing a custom mold to create a plastic connector, enabling compatibility with both silicone nozzles and silicone tubes. The nozzle was designed to fit seamlessly into the side storage compartment, enhancing convenience and portability.

The development process involved extensive research, prototyping, and testing. After multiple sample iterations, trials, and different model evaluations, the final EnemaPro design was selected for its compact, ergonomic shape, allowing for easy one-handed operation—a critical feature for usability while standing. Over two years of testing and refinement went into ensuring the product met the highest standards of efficiency, comfort, and discretion.

EnemaPro was born out of necessity. It’s a product designed to provide symptomatic relief during the ongoing journey toward optimal gut health. It’s not a cure—digestion begins in the mouth and ends at the rectum, and the root cause of digestive distress lies somewhere in between. My goal is to advocate for deeper exploration into gut health and encourage others to start their own journey.
